Catherine of Siena’s spiritual guardian was Mary Magdalene. She wore a ring of betrothal and white veil. Scarlet was her color symbol. One of only three women who have been named Doctor of the Church,  Italian-born St. Catherine lived only 33 years, from 1347-1380.
